The Solution: High-Pressure and Low-Pressure Dust Collection with Integrated Cresswood EF500 Grinder

To meet Dupont Pine’s needs, Boulware designed their Planer Mill Waste handling system using low pressure pneumatic conveying, high pressure pneumatic conveying, broken board grinding, and trim saw waste conveying and hogging. Planer Shavings , sawdust,  woodhog waste, and grindings are extracted from the process at 30 Ton per hour rates. The waste wood is collected in “Truckloading” Shavings Bins at at rate of 1 truckload an hour. Hydraulic bin bottoms open to batch load “open-top” wood chip trailers. This was done across both of the company’s Georgia locations.

The system features a Cresswood EF500 horizontal board grinder that efficiently processes stacker sticks and other wood scraps generated during lumber production. The grinder breaks down material into consistent chips, and the system’s built-in technology automatically separates metal from the wood, ensuring a clean recycled product ready for resale.

A custom-designed control panel ties the entire operation together, allowing seamless coordination between the dust collection systems and the wood waste recycling equipment. Additionally, a wood chip diverter directs the processed wood trash into a waiting truck bin — simplifying transport and maximizing efficiency.
